In January 2011, 14 cyclists pedaled form Melbourne to Adelaide to promote The Jodi Lee Foundation. The team raised in excess of $135,000, and connected with local communities across Victoria and South Australia.
The impact of the ride was not simply the funds raised, but the influence the message of early screening had on people and the subsequent actions they took.
Following the success of Ride For The Little Black Dress in 2011, the event is back for 2012. This year a team of 22 cyclists and 4 support crew are planning to ride from Canberra to Melbourne. From March 10 the team will cover over 1,000 kms and travel through some of the most spectacular and challenging terrain across New South Wales & Victoria. We have made this year's ride a little more interesting by tackling not only The Snowies, but we will also take the team up onto Mt Buller.
With a larger team, and a different route, we are planning to raise $200,000. If you'd like to support my challenge of riding from Canberra to Melbourne, you can click here to make a donation.
